Prior Approval is one of the many types of applications that we have experience with.
In accordance with UK legislation, prior approval is now sought and those seeking to build will need to apply to local planning authorities to determine whether or not prior approval is needed for many types of developments.
Currently prior approval applies to a range of development types and can include offices to residential, warehouses to residential, shops to residential units, agricultural and forestry buildings as well as many others, such as those wanting to convert an office into a home or a home into a block of flats. This will now require permission from the council to give prior approval in relation to things such as highways, contamination, acoustics and flooding.
It will be possible to make all manner of changes to current buildings such as hotels, care homes and concert halls following prior approval of impacts on noise and transport. Agricultural buildings will also be covered by these new rules and it will be possible to convert them to a number of different uses.
There are many more to consider, but too many to mention here.
Commencing with a new development will ultimately depend on prior approval being granted or a decision made that means you won’t need prior approval at all.
How this affects you rather depends on what you have in mind. You can discuss your ideas with us and we can go through all the options and advise on how to proceed.
